Skull Turrets

skullogo.png This plugin allows players to craft and place skulls that can automatically target and attack mobs or players with arrows. Each skull level is crafted from the previous skull level using ingredients that become more difficult to obtain with each crafting level. Great for parameter defense of your Minecraft fort.

features:

  • Auto Targeting and firing. Devious and crazed skulls target hostile mobs by default, but all skulls can be told to target other players as well
  • Skulls can be configured to use ammo chests
  • Skulls can use fire enchanted bows from ammo chests to fire flame arrows
  • Skulls can be set to use custom skins based on username
  • Skulls can be configured to turn off or on with Redstone signals
  • Skulls Rotate to target
  • Skulls rotate to patrol visible area and can target based on visibility, mob type, distance, health and armor
  • 4 craftable types of skulls, Crazed, Devious, Master and Wizard. Each having varied levels of intelligence for targeting and firing abilities.
  • Smartest skull types will attempt to avoid friendly fire

Intelligence - Crazed

  • Will attack Hostile Mobs
  • Will NOT attack Players
  • Will NOT attack Animals
  • Will Ignore walls
  • Will NOT Score and smartly choose enemies
  • Will NOT respond to skull bow targets
  • Shoots arrows Normal Spread 20
  • Weakest arrow attack (Usually takes up to 4 hits to kill a creeper)
  • No Friendly Fire Protection
  • Max range: 15 blocks

Intelligence - Devious

  • Will attack Hostile Mobs
  • Will NOT attack Players
  • Will NOT attack Animals
  • Will NOT Ignore walls
  • Will NOT Score and smartly choose enemies
  • Will NOT respond to skull bow targets

Shoots arrows Tight Spread 10

  • Normal arrow attack (Usually takes 3 hits to kill a creeper)
  • Friendly Fire Protection
  • Max range: 22.5 blocks

Intelligence - Master

  • Will if told via commands attack any mob or player.
  • Will NOT Ignore walls
  • Will Score and smartly choose enemies
  • Will target enemies shot by skull bow
  • Strong arrow attack (Usually takes 2 hits to kill a creeper)
  • Friendly Fire Protection
  • Max range: 25.5 blocks

Intelligence - Wizard

  • Will if told via commands attack any mob or player.
  • Will NOT Ignore walls
  • Will Score and smartly choose enemies
  • Will target enemies shot by skull bow
  • Requires ammo box to function
  • Primary fire: Splash Potions from ammo box (Slow, Weakness, Poison, Harm, Heal)
  • Secondary fire: Strong fire arrow attack (Only if target is very near death)
  • Only skull type that can successfully attack Endermen. (Must use Splash Harm potion)
  • Friendly Fire Protection
  • Max range: 30 blocks

Skull Bow

  • Any Living Entity shot with this bow will be a target of all owned Master / Wizard skulls in range of the target
  • Skulls will attempt to target as soon as they are able
  • Skulls will continue to target as long as enemy is in firing range, is not blocked by obstacles and would not cause friendly fire.
  • Skulls will forget the target after 1 minute of time even if target re-enters range
  • Target Timer is reset each time Target is shot with bow
  • Does not require ammo at this time (Bow has Infinity arrow enchant)
  • Bow does not do any damage to targets.

Redstone Powered Skull

  • This is an example of a crazed skull being activated using Redstone detection.
  • The skull is only allowed to patrol normally when Redstone is detected.
  • The skull will not target or fire at targets when Redstone is NOT detected.
  • Skulls that normally display visual effects will not show effects while redstone is NOT detected.
  • The block below the fence post is a Lapis Lazuli Block and is the block used to detect redstone signals
  • Skulls must be told to listen for redstone using first using /skull edit to select the skull. Then /skull redstone to enable redstone detection for that skull.

Ammo Chest Layouts

  • Skull Turrets will look for ammo chests in the above areas
  • Any of the above layouts are valid, and any combination of the above layouts are also valid
  • All chests will be checked for ammo

Commands

/skull edit = Used to select a Skull Turret for editing. /skull done = Used to turn off edit mode /skull add <friend/enemy> <entitytype> (playername) = Adds mobs or players to be targeted by the turret. entity type is usable but only mobs or players can be added. Examples

    • Example: /skull add friend player johndoe -would add PLAYER johndoe as a friend
    • Example: /skull add enemy player -would add ALL PLAYERS as enemies
    • Example: /skull add enemy monster -would add ALL aggressive mobs as enemies
    • Example: /skull add friend creeper -would add creepers as friends... but who would do that

/skull rem <friend/enemy> <entitytype> (playername)> = Similar to above, but instead used to remove things the skull targets /skull redstone = Selected skull when clicked will Toggle between listening or not listen for redstone signals

/skull skin (username) = Changes the skulls skin to the username entered. Using /skull skin without a username resets the skull back to a skeleton head

Trivia/Tips

  • Putting a bow with a fire enchantment in the ammo chest will allow the skull to use fire arrows
